The Smithsonian’s National Zoo is a free admission park with exhibits featuring animals from all around the world. This 163-acre park was originally opened in 1889 and has grown to include over 1,500 animals. Guests can explore primates, birds, reptiles, elephants, pandas, and more all while learning about conservation. You can also watch live feedings of certain animals throughout the day, as well as let the little ones enjoy the Kids’ Farm complete with barnyard animals who love to interact with visitors.

While the entire White House may not be accessible by guests, the famous White House tour does offer an impressive look inside the President’s residence. This tour welcomes thousands of guests every year and offers some unique facts and trivia about current and past administration members. Most exciting is the amount of original artifacts on display offering a glimpse into the early days of the White House to today. It is recommended that you schedule your tour several weeks in advance due to popularity.
